Summer is fading, and with the change of the seasons comes new programming for all the major networks. Fall promises a fresh start for television programming each year, with the return of favorite shows and the introduction of the new crop of television entertainment. NBC is doing a bit of overhauling for the fall of 2010. With the cancellation of Heroes, Trauma, Mercy and Law and Order, and the controversy surrounding the Jay Leno/Conan O'Brien Tonight Show fiasco, NBC has a lot of airtime and a big demand to fill. Here's a look at the new shows set for the fall 2010 television season.
The Event NEW! (Mondays 9/8c)
The Event is a brand new show premiering September 20, 2010. The show stars Jason Ritter, Blair Underwood, Laura Innes and more in the ensemble cast of the "high-octane conspiracy thriller." NBC has been careful to keep the details of the plot under wraps, but the NBC website does disclose that The Event's plot centers on Jason Ritter's character, Sean Walker, and his quest to find his missing girlfriend/potential fiance. Sean's search has a ripple effect on the lives of the rest of the cast, causing some drama and some hijinks. The Event seems like NBC's own version of ABC's hit Lost and promises that every answer will bring new questions. If audiences want to keep track of what's going on, they better not miss an episode of The Event.
Chase NEW! (Mondays 10/9c)
Chase is another new NBC offering premiering this fall. Produced by television powerhouse Jerry Bruckheimer and starring Kelli Giddish, Chase professes to be a "lightning-fast...thrillride" that will keep the audience on the edge of their seats. Giddish plays a U.S. Marshal named Annie Frost (whose name gives the impression of distinct unfriendliness) who wears cowboy boots and chases bad guys. For the sake of Chase, here's hoping that Mr. Bruckheimer can turn this generic pitch into an entertaining show. Chase premiers September 20, 2010.
